Newb with Computers, just wanting to play my sims2

Hey, i downloaded the DirectX and it says " failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphic adapters in system! " and i have NO clue what to do, i have a windows XP. ANy suggestions?

Hmm...whats your grahics card by the way? It seems that you'll need the latest graphics driver which is compatible with DrirectX 9.0C.
