Nexstar.2 External Drive

  1. I have a NexStar.2 External 3.5 hard drive enclosure. I have fitted a 40GB hard disk in it and connect it to my PC. My PC immediately picked it up and I was able to use it like a normal memory stick.
Now there are certain data that I want to transfer from a friend's PC to mine. He uses WinME and mine is XP. HIs PC did pick the device ( little green icon in the taskbar, but in My Computer and in Explorer, there is nothing. I also run the installation disk on his PC although it is only recommendated for 98SE.
    What can be wrong
    Thanks
    Martin

Did you format the external hard drive as NTFS? Windows 9x/Me does not support NTFS - you should use FAT32 instead.

Thanks. I did not and after I've done that, everything is okay.
