It's too bad Amazon and Google couldn't have put together a "gentleman's agreement" and co-developed the next 7" pad. The Nexus 7 is a nice little unit, and I'm sure the next Kindle Fire will be almost identical in nearly every way... Why not pool resources, achieve massive quantity breaks on the hardware, and just let the software/ecosystem duke it out? Better for both parties to join forces to promote the Android platform and try to overwhelm the iPad Mini (or whatever it's going to be called).

    Ah well.
