    That's great! Just really fortunate they did not run into the costa rica military and have a firefight, otherwise there would be another war.

    That is a lie. You don't need to be allowed into the area in order to graph important landscapes such as country borders. Microsoft uses satellite images that it then converts into the image you see in the article, so that it remains as accurate as possible with the real thing. Or they use official, native maps of the area to accurately represent landscapes and/or places' names that a satellite imagine can't. That's also what Google does, most of the time that is.

    So yeah, you do work for Google, but at home right?

    Costaricans have nothing to envy Nicaragua. There are more than half a million Nicaraguans that have emigrated to Costa Rica because they can work there, have free education and free health services. Their families (that still are in Nicaragua) can make their living because of the money they receive regularly from their relatives in Costa Rica. Nicaraguans come and work hard in my country because there are more opportunities for them and they also benefit from that.
    Why should we envy Nicaragua then?

    @Guest:

    Well, many people emigrated to escape the war, and many others for the reason you point; but if the US stops messing around with everybody you will see our country rise again, and you will come looking for work as you did before we were victims of the US in the 80's.

    Clearly this is a campaign for the destruction of our country's reputation, as they did with iraq, making everyone think that there were enough terrorists to justify bombing entire cities and a military invasion, no surprise the result is the death of hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT people, for the OIL they depend on.
  8. Stupid nationalism is crazy, if nicaraguans hold grudges against costa rica they can“t be used as an argument in this case, the official maps of nicaragua, which by the way were erased, established the border as the costa ricans were saying, not much development can come to nicaragua if they continue to waste time in stupid arguments, the whole area, including nicaragua is on the verge of hunger, worry about that and stop invading
  9. This is horrible me my mother and father are from Costa Rica and my Grandma and Granpa are from Nicaragua and Germany. There is no purpose in Nicaragua invading Costa Rica. Nicaragua needs to improve there relations with other Countries. Costa Rica has one of the best relationships with North America since before 1502, therefore take it easy over there and look for allies not enemies.
  10. All the way to the Gulf of Mexico? None of those countries has a coastline in the Gulf of Mexico. They do have a coastline in the Caribbean Sea. The Gulf of Mexico ends at the straits between Cuba and Yucatan. What online maps is the author of this article using?
  11. Its just a chance for more advertisement. Slicky attidude by google.

    imagine google maps used in WW2. wouldve been funny if Easy Company/101st airborne landed straight onto Germany instead of Normandy.
  13. for some ppl that dont know much here is a little FYI: Costa Rica and Nicaragua have always been fighting for the rights over an island on the Atlantic called San Jose, wqwhich Costa Rica believe is theirs, , so i quess taking this land feels like it belongs to the Nicaraguan Ppl
