    I'm not familiar with all forms of socil media listed above, but what makes Pinterest different from FB/Twitter/Google+ is that it changes the focus from 'Look at me' to 'Look at this'.

    Couldn't have said it better myself. And for those who wish to turn a picture post into themselves, Pinterest limits the number of characters. The site is all about the pictures people collect and post for others to share.
