1) Hmmm... So if you look carefully through all of Device Manager now, do you see any devices anywhere with a yellow or red icon? By chance, any category labeled Other?
2) Pls answer above question. Tho as best i can tell i think your sound card has died :dead: as doesn't seem any indication Windows can still detect the sound card hardware any longer
3) Thou you should also check your BIOS. If there's Onboard Audio listed is it set to Enabled?
If your gettin a new computer maybe then just as well... Otherwise, if sound card really did go kaput! (as it appears) USB sound cards are usually pretty cheap alternative (based on your needs and quality of sound you want, etc)
