No audio after formatting

  1. Hi,

    I formatted my home computer because of some virus issues. Now, I am unable to hear anything. I realize that I have 2 re-install the sound driver but im not sure how to do that. Could someone please help me out?

    Computer:
    Intel (R)
    Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
    2.99 GHz, 448 MB of Ram

    System:
    Microsoft Office XP
    Professional
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2

    Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

    Is it a branded computer like Dell, HP, ect? If so you'll just need to google that model and sound driver and then find the XP driver from their site. If it is a homebuilt or custom computer then we'll need to know what motherboard you have.

    hey my computer is actually a custom computer.

    system manufacturer: VIA technologies Inc.
    system model: PM800 -8237
