No audio device, enabled in BIOS

I've been having a problem with this for a while. There's no audio device in my sounds and audio devices. I have a dell computer Windows XP Home Edition SP3 It's pretty old but I checked the BIOS and the sound was turned on. I also noticed that my audio driver I had before isn't in the device manager.
Help if you can, please

Go to Dell's website and, using the PC's service tag number, find the appropriate sound driver. Download and install it and see if that fixes the problem.
