(Note: following applies for internal PCI connected soundcards. Diagnostics will be different if you have a USB sound card)

Look at all the Device Names displayed in the System Devices section of a DxDiag report. At least one device name should have the word Audio included in its name. (On rare occasion, the only exception may be a Device Name simply named "PCI Device")

Here's the System Devices in your report. Note that no Device Name includes the word Audio!

This implies the audio controller is not being detected by Windows. There are two reasons:
> If this is a Desktop, integrated audio may disabled in your BIOS or
> Hardware failure where the audio controller is dead

Suggest you take a good and thorough look throughout all BIOS menu pages and look if an integrated audio option and make sure it;s not disabled.

Thank you I was hoping for a reply from you!

Hi ssss88

This time your DxDiag System Devices section shows the Hi Def Audio controller detected! so it's working
Code:
Name: Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio
Device ID: PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3288&SUBSYS_32881106&REV_10\3&2C8B7305&0&08
  Driver: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys, 5.10.0001.5013 (English), 1/7/2005 14:37:18, 138752 bytes

If it started working without you changing any BIOS settings, it's likely intermittent audio controller hardware failure. When it works, Windows detects it and it appears in your DxDiag. If it's disabled in BIOS or the audio hardware failed, you won't see it under DxDiag System Devices
