No audio from HDTV connected to laptop

    Hey ! I have an ASUS A42F laptop. I just formatted it to windows 8 and the Sony HDTV to which I connect my laptop does not output any audio at all! the TV does not even show up in the playback devices tab. Earlier when I had Windows 7 it was just plug and play. I think it's a driver issue but have tried everything but to no avail....please help!!! really frustrated!

    Hey thanks for replying but I got frustrated and formatted my laptop and juat installed the intel HD graphic driver and the TV speaker option popped up...thanks again!
