No Boot Device found - Dell Inspiron 530 - Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade my friends computer. He has Windows Vista Ultimate and I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate. When I try to boot from disk it says "No Boot Device Found" Hit button for retry. Not sure why it's not letting me boot from Cd-Rom. Any ideas?

And to be exact is says...

Boot from CD:
No boot device available. Press ENTER key to retry
first two sata say nothing
and the last two sata says installed

Is this a geniune microsoft windows dvd.? Have you change the boot order in the bios to boot from Cd rom? If you have done this and its still not working and you are just upgrading. You can do the upgrade threw windows. Just run a clean install. But before you do this make sure you have the chip drivers and such. For the new OS you are installing.

Try to check the cable if it is firmly hold, then make sure to select the CD room for your first boot., if nothing happens try to replace your IDE or SAta cable ....
