during post the ram and cpu does not show up, only video card. i get a blank screen after that... its a computer a friend gave to me, he took the HD and stuff so i figured id try to get it working.
im curious also, does it matter which slot a RAM chip is put into? there are three of them and i have the a stick in the left slot.
the core is an AMD Athlon, i dont know what speed it is
any suggestions why the cpu and ram wont come up on post?
Edit: might have something to do with the bios

its not that newer ram is it that has to have another stick or a blank to work?
