[parsehtml]

If you don't like the "live" nature of live-streaming, Periscope has an update for you that adds Web profiles for all accounts. Instead of checking Twitter to see when someone will be streaming, you can go straight to an individual Periscope user’s link to see if they are currently live-streaming, or if there are any broadcasts you missed that will be available for a 24-hour period.

Web profiles are another welcome addition to increase the usability of the app, and Periscope agrees. In the introduction blog post, Periscope wrote, “We think it's really important for broadcasters to have a home on the web, and today's launch is just the beginning.”

The app, that some say is taking the world by storm and others still haven’t heard about, was acquired by Twitter in January. In August it reached, and surpassed, 10 million user accounts. Since Periscope only launched at the end of March, it’s a short window to amass that many accounts but Periscope isn’t getting too worked up about it. That number is far higher than the daily active user count, which is around 2 million, and that's fine for now. The people at Periscope would rather focus on the Time Watched number, and build up the platform for those already using it.

In a blog post in August, Periscope wrote, “If we were motivated to grow DAU, we'd be incentivized to invest in a host of conventional growth hacks, viral mechanics, and marketing to drive up downloads. This direction doesn't necessarily lead to a better product, or lead to success for Periscopers.”

Permalink to story.

http://www.techspot.com/news/62177-no-need-worry-if-you-missed-periscope-now.html
[/parsehtml]
