I also just bought a IIyama E485S LCD montor and connected to my Radeon Graphics card and experience no screen/wavy vertical lines during intial boot, but after a few times switching off and rebooting the screen eventually works fine. I have tried connecting through the D-sub and DVI cables but the problem exists on both types of connection. Can anybody explain a reason or a fix for this annoying problem - Thanks

personally, i would reseat the video card and maybe the ram. then, if you have the equipment for it, troubleshoot. try a different monitor on it. that will narrow it down. make sure your radeon drivers are up to date.
