No sound after OS Install

HI all i just reinstalled windows xp home edition, and i just noticed my computer has no sound anymore. My PC has a On-board sound card so i figured windows would automatically find it, is there anything i have to config to get the sound working again after a fresh windows install? thanks

Download and install the appropriate sound driver. After a fresh Windows install you have to install other drivers as well, such as chipset, graphics and LAN. If this is a self built or custom built PC, go to the motherboard manufacturer's website for the appropriate drivers. If it is a manufacturer built system (Dell, HP, Acer, Gateway, etc.), go to the manufacturer's website for the drivers.
