    Just popped a Sound Blaster card into an older PC and I'm not getting any sound. I switched from onboard sound to the card, installed everything, checked all settings, volume etc...any ideas?

    Which model Soundblaster card? What make/model computer and version of Windows? Which type of audio port are you connected to on the card?

    Generate then attach a DirectX report
    • click Start->Run, enter dxdiag
    • Notice progress in lower left window corner
    • When done, click Save Information button and save to your Desktop
    • In TechSpot, use the paper clip icon to attach the report. (If you don't see icon you may need to first click Go Advanced)

    Was a driver issue. The new driver would install partially...if thats possible, and I'd have sound...then the machine would restart to uninstall the old drivers and viola...no sound again. I did a work around and its fine now.
