No spinning disc

I am repairing a gamecube that my neighbors kid dropped and by having the cover off the disc does not spin. Is there something broken off or what?

Could be anything. Disassembe further, and look for rubber drive belts or drive wheels that have slipped off.
But it doesn't take much impact to crack the system board and render it useless.

I took it apart and found no cracks or missing/damaged parts (visual). Do you think when it was dropped that it may have popped the laser? It goes to the part where the guy is eating at the beginning of the game(Naruto 2) and that's it. It states there is an error that occurred to shut off and look at manual (which there is none that he still has)

These boards are double and sometimes even triple layered!
If there is no obvious fault. I would say it's dammage to the board.

Umm is under warranty ? (as I'm not a warranty officer, I can't tell you that dropping it, will void warranty! But that's up to you to say)

Most cracks that do permanent damage cannot be seen with the nekkid eye, but they will show up in testing equipment scans.
