Here's the synopsis of my problem

Wake up & move mouse, no video output - computer is powered on.
(Current graphics card is Radeon X1600Pro- dual dvi output)
tried new cable: dvi to vga adapter, vga cable to monitor, no luck
vga from mobo to vga monitor works
replaced vid card with Radeon HD 3870, detects card, wont install properly

possible solutions: fried pci-e slot? something wrong on mobo?

i'm out of ideas, maybe someone can list some solutions

    thanks

When did this problem first appear? On cold boot or while the computer had been on for a while?

I would try replaceing the power supply first
