No video input - Phillips 170c lcd

my computer screen has a floating image saying no video input ive tried other screens but no joy, all leds on fans on so i presume computer is running,

can anyone help me?
(im on my laptop if anyone is wondering how im on here, which also shows that my internet is working and the light on my modem says my computer is connected to the internet)

this is so frustrating please somebody help me

I'm immediately led to thinking that it's a problem with the video card. Try reseating the card itself (might have come loose). If you have onboard graphics, run the system on that to see if it works.

Sorry about that lol ... Open up your tower .... the slot that your monitor plugs into at the back of the tower - that's your video card slot. Just make sure that it's firmly in place in its socket. If you take out your graphics card (video card), are you still able to plug your monitor into something? If you are, then you have onboard graphics which means you can take out your graphics card and that way you'd be able to test whether it is in fact the card at fault ....
