Nook Color update adds apps, email, Flash and more

  1. Barnes & Noble's Nook Color just received a major update today that finally delivers apps, email, and web browsing to the 7-inch device. Although originally billed as an e-reader, the Nook is now looking even more like a multipurpose tablet, and with a price tag of just $250 it's a very compelling option for those looking an affordable Android slate.

    ive had my nookcolor rooted for awhile now... no full access to Google's app market if a drawback. Think I'm happy just the way I've got mine set up now.

    I don't think it's bad for many consumers to have a filtered app store with less garbage, but I guess that some useful apps will be kept out, in particular the Kindle one.
