I have used Norton Ghost for years to clone a 20G hard drive over to an external, USB 2,0 HD once per week. For years, it took under an hour to do the entire job. Two weeks ago, something changed and it took 12 hours to do the same task. Last week, it went back to its normal 50 minutes or so and I thought that it was a one-time weird glitch. Unfortunately, this morning the problem showed up again and I am again waiting for a 12 hour process to finish so I can get access to that machine.
Any thoughts as to what may be causing this and/or anything that I can do to prevent it from happening again?
