First of all started out with Disk Boot Failure Please insert system disk and press enter.
Got new hard drive
put windows xp on hard drive
updated with microsoft updates so i had to restart plenty of times and never had a problem
left pc off for about 3 days
Got disk boot failure.... error again
ran check disk in recovery console
boots up just fine
restarted to make sure it wouldn't do it again
got disk boot error
ran check disk
booted up fine again...
looked in computer management partition is active
changed ide cables... still get error
the pc does hang on "compaq" bios screen for awhile then goes to the space blinking then gives error.
pc is a compaq presario s4020wm Windows xp home edition sp2

Found out what it was.... weirdly enough it was cause of dma being enabled... put it to pio only and BAM....
