NPD: Game sales take a dive in April

  1. On Thursday the NPD Group reported the worst video game sales figures since July 2009. With a total revenue of $766 million, the game industry's April slump accounted for a substantive 26% decrease in software sales from March or about a 24% decrease from yearly earnings sampled this time last year.

    Splinter Cell was the only big-anticipated game released in April. And I think the sales of X-Box's and PS3's are flattening out. They've been around for years now and people who want them have already purchased them.

    Probably going to be a lean 2-3 months coming up. But in the fall, there's going to be a slew of highly anticipated games released, so we'll check the figures then. ;)

    Xbox Needs to come out with a Xbox 540 model. Then we can deal with the red ring of death in 3D on our TV Screens.
