NPD: New Xbox 360 boosts sales, industry down 6% overall

  1. NPD has announced June's retail game sales data revealing another strong month for Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. The sandbox Western racked up 582,900 units on the Xbox 360 and 380,300 on the PlayStation 3 for a total of 963,200 shipments – down from 1.5 million in May, but still enough to make it the best-selling game of 2010, according to the outfit.

    To be fair these consoles are 4+ years old. Expecting anything other than a drop in sales for the console itself is madness.
