NTLDR error

hello all... here again with a NTLDR error this time.. so ill explain it.


i restarted my computer after installing firefox and scanning my computer for viruses and adwere ect ect

i get the NTLDR is missing error and its saying press Ctrl+Alt+delete to restart

after hitting the commands it brings me back to the same screen, so i put in the os disk to repair the boot problem, how when i hit the f8 button to go the selectable boots, i get a beeping sound from my tower,


OS- Xphome
computer - dell dimension 2300 basic

edit: i wanted to know if i could take a secound HD and connect it 2 the computer witht he NTLDR error and copy over the files...

how did you try to fix the NTLDR problem?

Did you use the OS CD and try the following?

*X is the location of your optical drive.

COPY X:\i386\NTLDR C:
COPY X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:

or just type FIXBOOT at the command prompt?

Cant use the CD it f8 wont bring me to boot selection page, i cant type anything in and when i made a repair NTLDR disk with a floppy, i get a a Disk I/O error,


just another problem

Try having the Cd in and booting with a win 98 boot disk or download a boot disk from here.
