Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition not working with error message

  1. lozootmaniac Newcomer, in training

    I bought this game from newegg and it is installed with Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. When you Play the game from autoplay or double click the shortcuts it shows the box in the left hand corner. A message from windows pops up and says Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close. It also has the error report to windows which includes the following:

    AppName: oblivion.exe AppVer: 1.2.0.416 ModName: oblivion.exe
    ModVer: 1.2.0.416 Offset: 00098749

    There is other info if requested. Anyone know anything about this problem or if there is a fix...

    What operating system are you using? If you haven't already, make sure all game patches are installed.

    Does your PC meet the requirements? While it is an older game make sure you meet them.

    You can also go here and check if your system is up to playing Oblivion.
