Oblivion install problems

  1. Simple enough:

    I attempt to run the OblivionLauncher.exe to set it up, and it alawys comes up with a message saying:

    These files can't be opened.
    Your Internet security settings prevent one or more of these files from being opened.

    I have tried setting all Security Levels to Low, but it still doesn't work. Please help?

    What internet security are you running?

    AVG (full version)

    yeah. didn't work :/

    Did you try uninstalling it (then reinstalling it)?

    Yeah just tried it. STILL didn't work. I'll be seriously annoyed if I can't get it working :( It's an AWESOME game...

    Have you tried installing the game without AVG installed?

    did that before re-installing AVG. Could it be a bad disk? I have had it a while...

    Stupid Question: Is the game disk clean?

    What is the make of your harddrive?

    yeah the disk is clean. My mate tried it on his PC earlier, and it didnt work then either. He tried to "Explore" the disk, and no files showed up...Crappy disk I think...

    I think you may be correct: If it doesn't load on another system something is wrong with your disk. What about scratches and other marks?
