Oblvion GOTY crashes after making character!

  1. I have had Oblivion GOTY for some time now. After an issue with my computer I had to perform a destructive restore on my computer(I have done this before with no problems). After re-updating my computer to the fullest and downloading the drivers for my ATI HD 2600 AGP video driver, Oblivion will not play. It opens the menu and opens character creation. I create my character, set my name and press ok. Then right as it loads the area it crashes to desktop with a "Oblivion Must Shut Down" error. I tried sending the data but then my comptuer freezes.

    I have as follows.

OS: Microsoft Xp Home Edition Version 2002
    Service Pack 3
    Processor: AMD Sempron 3000+
    1.99 GHz
    Ram: 768 MB

If you need any more information just ask(Possibly give instructions)

If you haven't already, try uninstalling the game and reinstall it.

I tried and it still does the same thing. I don't think it is something wrong with the software.

Seems like its hardware issues, just what you listed hw wise, seems like its the minimum and the game doesnt like it. I had this issue when I ran the game with minimal hardware.

    I've done it before

On the same computer I have played this game before. The only thing that has changed is that I system restored my computer(Destructive) to the factory default. Afterwards I downloaded all the drivers. I have a difficult time finding the proper up-to-date driver for my video card(ATI Radeon HD 2600 pro AGP Series). If anyone could post the link for the proper drivers I would be very appreciative.

P.S. I've downloaded from ATI's home website as well as Visiontek.
