OCZ has announced the latest addition to its Agility solid-state drive lineup. Based on the Indilinx Everest 2 controller, which was first introduced in the flagship Vertex 4 family back in April, the new Agility 4 promises to deliver up to 400MB/s sustained sequential read speeds and up to 85,000 random write IOPS over a SATA 6Gbps interface. OCZ is pitching these as a cost-effective alternative to other SATA III SSD solutions in the market, making them ideal for mainstream entertainment, gaming, and mobile storage applications.

The Agility 4 features asynchronous MLC NAND flash memory, a dual-core controller, automatic 256-bit AES data encryption, advanced ECC, TRIM support, dynamic wear leveling, and OCZ’s Ndurance 2.0 technology, which is said to extend NAND flash life well beyond manufacturer-rated specifications.

The Agility 4 is available in a boot-drive sized 64GB model, as well as 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities. Amazon just posted prices for the three larger models at at $150, $264 and $561, respectively, putting the price-per-gigabyte value for the series somewhere between $1.03 and $1.17.

OCZ is covering the Agility 4 SSD family with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

"and up to 85,000 random write IOPS"
Jose, lets give people what they want to know...
IOPS * TransferSizeInBytes = BytesPerSec (with the answer typically converted to MegabytesPerSec)

From what I've seen other sites do, sequential read/write is listed as MB/s and random read/write is listed as IOPS. And it's important to note that only the 256GB and 512GB models are 85k IOPS, the 128GB is 72k IOPS and the 64GB is 47k IOPS.
