I have Access to A T1 connection and I was wondering if there was a place where I could donwload the CDDB database to be used offline, instead of having to connect all the time to get the song names as the destination computer doesnt have a net connection

    Cheers for your help guys

Question: I have downloaded the CDDB database (e.g. from ftp://ftp.uni-koeln.de/windows/xcontrib/xmcd/xmcd-cddb.tar.gz), unfortunately this database is already relatively old (November '9. Where can I download a more up-to-date version or an update.

Answer: Unfortunately not at all. The operators of the CDDB database have not given out the data since November'97. I have repeatedly suggested to the operators that they install an "Update" function which automatically transmits new CDs to the users. Unfortunately this was rejected. Even worse: in the meantime the CDDB operators have even limited the number of requests per user so that a query using "Brute Force" doesn't work any more either.
If you have any complaints, please contact the CDDB operators directly (http://www.cddb.com)
