I recently purchased a new MSI K7T Turbo motherboard for a pc for my younger siblings. I set it up with Win98SE(fully updated) and got all the latest drivers from MSI website . When I went to use anything with audio only the left channel puts out sound. I know the speakers are good and ive made sure the their plugged in all the way. All audio sliders are in the middle in the volume control menu. There is a BIOS update but ive never heard of an audio problem being fixed by a BIOS update. I'm thinking the actual sound hardware is bad and if thats the case I might RMA the board if I cant find a cheap sound card for less than $10

    System specs:
    Duron 750
    MSI K7T Turbo
    196MB RAM(3 64MB simms)
    Creative FireGL 1000 Pro
    AC'97 onboard sound

One of the contacts in the audio jack might not be making contact with the plug.
