One speaker not working

Out of nowhere, one speaker stops working. No crackling or anything, just stopped and a restart didn't fix it. The volume setting is fine, everything is plugged in, it just stopped working. I have two speakers, only the left one is working and now plays all sound.

Unplugged them, cleaned the sockets and reconnected, seems to be working now.

What did you clean and what did you clean it with? I'm having the same problem, only with a longer record of the other speaker not working. Im hoping its just dirty, and not a damaged motherboard. Thanks a ton!
