Do you every get to see the files on drive F:\ using Explorer or not? Is drive F:\ corrupt in other words. What is F: ? is it a HDD partition, CD, DVD, USB drive or what?

Open Computer management in Administrative tools and click on Disk Management. Do you see a drive F:\ ?

Can you see F: using a command window?

For example type DIr F:\ or F:\ (places you on drive F: ) then CD <some directory> and DIR again

You might just need to run chkdsk /r on drive F:

Please note, your specs do not specify operating system or service pack level.
