Original Red Alert, C&C problems. Compatibility and more

I read through these forums while searching how to get the '95 version of red alert to install on my Windows XP Home. I made the setup file compatible but it still didn't work. The error reads: "Unable to load SETUP.MIX" and then something about inserting the cd to start installing. Wll I put the cd in (I have two drives so I tried putting both in but that didn't work) so if anyone knows what to do, that would be great.
