OS won't load

  1. Hi ive looked at RICKS - HOW TO PERFORM AN 'IN PLACE UPGRADE' / SYSTEM REPAIR but after i accept (F8) i dont have the choice of repair.

    Also i have tryed to do copy C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\system C:\WINDOWS etc but it says cannot find system file............i tryed to copy the other files ur ment to and it can it just can't copy that which i guess it means its not there......

    I also did the C:\windows\repair\system etc......and it also comes up with cannot find the specified file.......

    im running Windows XP SP2........any help is appreciated.

    my OS wont load.....it just goes to windows loading screen then freezes for a sec and restarts......so yer i want to be able to get past the windows loading screen

    EDIT: ive tried everything that i can find on google.
