Hello,

I have read, but did not understand, articles on the memory limitations in Outlook 2003 when using Rules. I think I understood, that there is a limit to the number of Rules. Each rule uses approximately X percentage of the memory.

The memory limit was expressed in some computer unit of measurement and then further qualified. What I am seeking to know would be expressed in a approximate number of rules.

If you're familiar with this topic and can help me I would certainly appreciate it.

Thank you

Hi CCT

That article with 32KB and 64KB and modifying to 256KB doesn't help me.

I'm not on a server. Just a desktop running Outlook 2003.

If the 32KB applies to me - how many rules is that? I don't understand what 32KB means. I only want to translate that number, if it is the right one, into a number of rules so I don't slow my computer.

It appears you can't get a definitive answer regarding that.

Every post and article I found says 32 Kb is the max for ALL rules and people say there is no limit on the size of each rule but there is on the number of total rules (which makes no sense).

Frankly, I doubt that something with only 32Kb of available data to scan is going to slow down your comp anyway.

If you do find more info, let us know will you.
