Overheating

Hello everyone im new to this site hopefully someonecan helpme? I have a DELL PRECISION M60 and my internal fan has amind of its own.Sometimes it wil work but more often than not it wont even when its really warm.please help my lap cant take much more. Antonia.

Is this laptop still under warrenty? If so return said laptop and get it fixed. Also, have you tried a cooling pad?

Thanks Route, no its not under any warranty just wondered if there was a driver update to download,ive looked in the device manager and the fan isnt listed(os xp). But i looked in device manager on my pc(os vista ultimate) to see if the fan is listed and it is thats why i thought there might be driver update. Antonia
