Overloud background music on TV

Hi. Thanks for the welcome aboard message.
My problem is just the annoying loud music background to most TV transmissions which, with my poor hearing, even though assisted by hearing aids, blocks out the spoken word.
I have a VERIZON FIOS set up with 7.1 speaker system and a SHARP DVD TV. I have "tweaked" the sound and stereo, etc. controls on my receiver amp with no result.
Is there any help out there?

You need to talk to your hearing aid supplier. Even we, with normal hearing are plagued with loud background music having to constantly turned down and turning up the spoken word. Have you thought about using headphones compatible with your hearing aids?
