I am running a Raid 0 array on twin 7200rpm 500gb Seagate SATA hdds. Also I have a 7200rpm 250gb WD IDE I use for backups. Would it be ok to place the pagefile on the WD hdd?

Thanx,

Certainly, the pagefile contains nothing whatever you need between sessions of using your PC. Depending on your PC memory, it is often not used at all.

I would warn you that RAID 0 is of little practical use to home PC users. Some people imagine it protects their PC but it does nothing of the kind. The only thing that will is backups and drive images (you say you have backup, you don't mention drive images).

Putting it briefly, a raid array protects from failure of a single drive. Any corruption, be it from a software fault or deliberate malware activity, is faithfully copied to both drives. Corruption and a need for recovery is at least 50 times more likely than an actual drive failure, so my advice to you would be to review why you think you need Raid, and maybe conclude you can use the drive space more usefully.
