  1. Hi all,
I have a sony VAIO VGN FS 730W laptop. I am planning to upgrade its memory. Currently it has a DR2 PC 3200 RAM 400 MHz.

When I searched online, one of the softwares searched my computer and came up with this as a compatible memory
    1GB 200-pin SODIMM
    Module Size: 1GB
    Package: 200-pin SODIMM
    Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300

I spoke to sony support-- and he wouldnt go beyond telling me to use the PC 3200. Do you think this PC2 5300 is compatible with the PC 3200. I have 2 258 Mb RAM which I was planning to replace to 2x 1GB ones. Please assist.
    thanks,

The DDR2 PC5300 should work great. However, do NOT mix memory modules with the slower 3200... Be sure all modules are the same speed, and preferably identical modules.
