PC doesn't like PCI Cards

Hi I've just built a new system:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Skt 939 with stock HSF
Abit AV8 SKT939 K8T800PRO
Western Digital WD400JD 40GB 7200RPM SATA/150 8MB Cahe
Corsair (VS512MB400C3) 512MB, DDR400 / PC3200, non-ECC, 184 DIMM, unbuffered, CL3, 32Mx8 DRAMs
Sapphire Radeon X700 AGP
Qtec 550W PSU

Got a problem: when I add a PCI card [have tried a SB Audigy 2ZS and a Winfast TV tune both pulled from a working system], after a minute or so of internet surfing the screen goes blank and the monitor light flashes. The graphics card is known to be working. It is as if the graphics card has "conked" out. Any ideas?

hello silent_bob84, this may be a power issiue, if you can look at the side of your power supply and see how many amps are on the 12 volt line

Hi.

For 12V it says:
Peak: 20A

For -12V, it says:
Peak: 1A

Edit: I have taken all PCI cards out and the computer was working fine until a windows update popped up. I clicked it and the screen went off...
