PC runs slower with SLI?

Here is my question:

My FPS drops by a good 20-30 frames when SLi is enabled. Neither one of my cards are dead/not working. Thoughts why?

all my drivers are up to date as well.

Have you tried enabled verticle sync in the nvidia control panel.

didn't help =/ It's weird, it's almost as if my PC can't handle both the cards, yet it came with it?

Is it only with certain games or circumstances? there are games that just simply don't get along with SLI/Crossfire, its almost always a driver issue. have seen a few times that it has been a faulty bridge however.

any voltage fluctuation to either card or the system in general when SLI is enabled?
