PC Specs for multi screen/app system?

I bought a new PC about four months back, it was running two screens and two apps simaltainiously on windows 32 bit. Ufortunaltely after about two months the motherboard blew, screens went dead and it wouldn't power up, still don't know wether there has been any damage caused to the hard drive, but it's going to a pc specialist for repair/upgrade next week.

Can anyone give me some advice on what changes I may need to make to it, firstly did I blow the motherboard by pushing it too hard? Secondly I want to run Three screens now and two to three apps at once. this is for AV work. One app (FL Studio for audio) one app (Res3 for visual), to do this I'll need three screens, one screen for each of the two (sometimes three) apps, one of the screens would act as a Preview monitor for the Visual compositions whilst the othe two screen woud run the app ui's.

I know I'll need two Graphics cards to accomodate for the three screens, but how safe is it to run two or three apps simaltianiously on one PC, should I also upgrade my OS, to 64bit? and add axtra ram? Can one motherboard handle all this?
