PC to LCD TV

I am attempting to hook up my LCD HD TV to my PC via VGA cables but I have found I can not get the resolution I am looking for any suggestions on how to get the best resolution on my TV from my PC?

bump..... I need some help here the picture quality is not as good as it should be how do I get the best resolution PC to TV. The TV has VGA, HDMI, and component. Ive hooked up the VGA but the resolution is only like 640x480 and looks terrible how do I get a better picture.

that might be all your tv supports through VGA, if you can hook up the HDMI and see what res. its at

You didn't give very many details.

I'd get a DVI to HDMI cable and use that.

Also tell us what graphics card you have also can it support more than 640x480?
