Yea most kids do judge games by the graphics but i think most of us here do that. Most of the games i play i play with graphics high for a while then once i'm done with the "oooing and awwwing" of all the pretty stuff i turn them to low since my machine isn't the best in the world.

Hell i still play Starcraft which has some old old graphics along with Counter Strike 1.6(not source). It kind of seems that most of the game companys today are in a competition to see who can put the most dynamic lighting effects and shadowing into games with it still being playable with the hardware. Hell alot of games now have the characters blink. Who cares if your character blinks? It must be so they can call it "more realistic" than the next best game.

I could care less if they blink, that just means i need a better gpu grrrrrr

my top favs are zelda 64, cc renegade, and ES3:Morrowind

i dont get why ppl didnt like command and conquer renegade..me and my friend LOVED that game

    sorry pc gamers

as much as I want to say pc is better for gaming. after this last 2 years of dreaming about a gaming pc but never even coming close to the money needed... lol forget that, listen...

    ~Consoles~ Pros -

    1. Have amazing set graphics that no matter what always look cleaner and more vibrant than you could get on a pc.

    2. have a better online community. (such as xbox live where every game and friend on your list is all linked over one huge network) which allows gamerscore and etc.

    3. You dont have to pay 1,000 DOLLARS JUST TO RUN ONE LOUSY GAME AT FULL SETTINGS!!! however on 360 and PS3 there is no settings, its always top notch and full power. sorry, bad expiriences with pc games and my crappy computer.

    4. Theres no lagging or slow gameplay on consoles like there is on pc, unless there's something wrong with your system.

    5. There are other mulitplayer options besides playing over the internet... (split screen, etc..)

    6. Everyones console comes with a headset (unless they buy the cheaper console version that doesn't come with one =P) and very few people dont use it so it's more social and easier to communicate with friends and chat than on pc.

    7. The 360 (and im pretty sure ps3 now too) has a list of demos for almost every game coming out for the console so you can try them before you buy them, which isn't the case with most pc games.

    8. Theres just nothin like layin back in a recliner with your headset on pwnin nubs in Gears of War :D

    Now for Cons -

    1. The only really con that anyone could even argue is that it's harder to mod on consoles than pc games. But there are many out there who do so on games like halo 2 which really leaves the consoles with no cons..

So if anyone actually took the time to read this whole post, you might as well stop arguing now, because with a pc, you'll be spending thousands of dollars just to get close to what you get with a console and more money on upgrades after that too. So there you have it, the pc has been defeated...

pc games tend to be a fair bit cheaper, but you do have to update pc..

    You gotta be joking right.
PC games that are ported to PC or have a duel release always have a much lower resolution, and are always missing certain things.
Good example is Max Payne 2 on PC, X-Box, and PS2.
You look at it on PS2 & X-Box and it looks horrbile.
On PC it looks great. You just need the hardware.
There is no way to say which is better PC or Console. PC has not been defeated by far.
It just comes down to circumstance. How much you can afford & what you prefer.
I used to be a big big big console gamer. But now I am a PC gamer. I find them a billion times better in every way.

(ps on your no lag issue... that = BS... I get lag playing SP games on console a fair bit, they can't process enough things, and online it's even worse.)

PC Gaming will always own console gaming.

PC gaming is better but in its own ways.

    1. You don't have to pay for Xbox Live
    2. LAN party
    3. Your PC can be customized to your likings
    4. Games are way cheaper
    5. PC can do way more things then a console...

Every great consoles always breed from an higher power PC aka high end PC: )

I'm a gamer, start playing video game from a video game Arcade at a baseball card shop to my first nes, turbo graphic 16, snes, playstation and playstation 2. I also get to try out more console at a friend house like the N64 with rumble packs, playing split screen with friends against each other with games like NFL Blitz, Golden Eyes 007 and Mortal Combat Trilogy. Since that friend I hang with was rich.. he had a Dell :p
I get to try the PC and i like it.... we played Worms, surfing the net (adult stuff lol and watching the movie at the same time. I really like the PC from there. Later in school, bunch of computer lab rats (PC admin) sneak couple of FPS game and played it lol. The first online shooter which i fall in luv.. was Team Fortress Classic, it was my favorite Valve shooter before Counter-Strike beta become famous.

To make it short, i was a console gamer, now a PC gamers. I like PC more due to couple of reasons:
    1. Multi players and not killing AI with yourself in a single game like so many happen to be in consoles.
    2. able to surf the web, watch movies, created movies, show off my movie on the net, play my favorite high end games while burning all my backup data into a DVD/Blu Ray.
    3. Able to obtains stuffs in the PC that no console can do (i rather no go into that, lol)
    4. Able to do all those thing for just under $900 for almost 2 years now. (with the right PC parts investment)

The only cons for what I see in a PC is that:
    1. dust build up and heat
    2. the little battery kick the bucket
    3. PC won't detect my $500 video card (this one i p3ar the most)
    4. upgrading to run only vista games (this one won't happen till 5-8 years from now i assumed?) Read my profile to predict my next upgrade if you're a PC Pro :-D
    5. When it come to graphic, no console can beat a right investment gamer PC thats under $900 that last you for 2-3 years depending how hardcore of a gamers you're. :)

    QFT

the only way you could possibly think console gaming is better than pc is if your only talking about price. Pc's rule in the graphics department, load times, and every other area. Of course PC's cost more, cause they are better, just like a Ferrari costs more than a Chevy cavalier, you get what you pay for.

You hit the nail right on the head.
If you know how to use a PC well, and understand them - they don't cause any problems you can't fix.

PC games look & play better. You can customise them to such a great extent.
Unlike console games - if a game lags, or looks bad - there is something you can do about it.
You don't have to put up with the crap.

not to mention the fact that all a console really is, is a cheap unupgradable version of a pc, with your crappy tv as a monitor.

Do keep it cool in here guys, otherwise Howard or one of the other mods will close the thread. It's not necessary to show how uber-1337 you are as a PC owner. ;)

    True true

In the end, PC wins by far.
