PCI card with HDMI sound and video?

  1. I have a Dell XPS-M1330 with an HDMI port that incorporates both sound and video. I would like to duplicate this capability on a desktop, i.e. a card with an HDMI port that provides both sound and video to a flat screen. It seems to me that if Dell can make this capability available on a laptop, there should be a PCI card that would also do it. I have tried all manner of searches on this board and the Newegg website looking for such a card to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions?????

Look into creative (www.creative.com). Usually the new soundblaster cards have an HDMI port.

The Sound Blaster series doesn't output video tho.

Since you specified a PCI slot look for one of the following:
    Powercolor HD2400Pro PCI
    <Various Manufacturers (Sparkle, PNY...> GeForce 8400GS PCI

They can be found on newegg and tigerdirect, among other places.

Merging HDMI+Sound is an issue for your motherboard and the Video/Sound cards.
Typically (where supported) a wire lead from the sound card attaches to a pin on the
    MB near the video card.
