PCIe power draw

  1. does anyone know if there is an optimum power setting for the pcie 2.0 slots? I have 3x HD 4830 (i found out are really 4850's) but i think the max power draw is the same on both, anyway my pcie slots are defaulted to provide 25w and the rest comes via the 6 pin power connector. is there a optimum setting for the power provided from the pcie bus? or does it not make a difference? ** the pcie slots can be set from 0w - 255w**.

The PCI-E slots provide 75W each and not 25W, assuming we are talking about PCI-E 2.0 slots here. So an x8 PCI-E 2.0 slot is equivalent to a PCI-E 1.1 x16 slot, and thus has the same electrical characteristics. The maximum power draw for a 2.0 x16 slot is 150W.

And no, there is no optimum setting AFAIK.
