PCMARK 2002 Scores/sys specs

heh, I didn't overclock that machine, it came with the factory settings, just like my 1.8ghz runs at 1.795ghz, my 400mhz runs at 400.99mhz. The 0.01mhz JUST don't appear, so the MAX it got was 400.99mhz, but it never reach 401mhz >( I'll be benchmarking that computer once I finish running it. My guess is that the 400mhz's HDD scores better than my 1.8ghz's...

Okay, the results of my 2nd Computer is out.

CPU score: 1023
Memory score: 744
HDD score: 113

There! I told you my HDD score on my 2nd computer is faster than my 1.8ghz!!!

CPU: Intel Pentium II 400mhz slot
Memory: 192mb PC100 SDRAM
HDD: Quantum 6.4gb; Seagate 20gb

CPU: 3514
MEM: 1647 (oh well, SDRAM)
DISK: 906

Celeron (.13um/Tualatin) 1.2GHz @ 1.44GHz (12*120FSB), vcore 1.475
MSI 815ET Pro motherboard
Antec 350W power supply (SX635 mini tower)
GeForce2 MX-200 (PCI)
256MB PC133 (1 DIMM)
Maxtor (Quantum Fireball) 40GB, 7200rpm, ATA100

Don't know how far this will overclock. I ran only about 15 minutes at the 120FSB and the CPU temperature held steady at 40C (about 3C higher than at 100FSB and 1.2GHz). I've since returned to 1.2GHz. I was just experimenting but may try again when I've looked some more at temperature and cooling. Seems like the new Tualatin CPUs may be good candidates for overclocking -- I just saw a note about someone who overclocked a Tualatin PIII to over 2GHz (unbelievable, I wouldn't try that)! Only problem with the Celeron is the slow memory. One note about the MSI 815ET, the on-board A97 audio stops working pretty quickly when you increase the FSB. This is a known problem, but can be "fixed" by using a PCI sound card (apparently).

It probably would be a bit better if my 40 GB WD drive (7200 RPM/ATA-100) hadn't crapped out on me (RMA'd it, should be here next week)

Uncleel has posted about the bugginess of this twice in size2 or size3 writing.... I have posted once about the program picking up my PII laptop as a Celeron...
Its buggy as heck as far as I can tell.

From OCPrices.com :

This benchmark seems a little unreliable at the moment; some of the results being churned out of the ORB (Online Result Browser) are dubious to say the least. For example, according to the statistics the fastest processor on the block is a Duron 1000. It should be obvious to all of you that there is no way a Duron 1000 can top the current processors. Hard Disk results also seem to vary wildly, with some of us with 7200rpm drives scoring in the 500-600s and the top score of dual 120GXPS with a huge 59835. Yes, RAID is fast but it is not *THAT* fast! The discrepancy lies in the File Copy section of the test, in which I scored a realistic 13.3MB/s. The top score was a huge 3696.9MB/s! Clearly there is something wrong here! It is not as if this is an isolated case, there are a whole load of strange Hard Disk results. In the CPU tests Pentium 4s seem to do a lot better than real-world benchmarks would suggest. A 1.6GHz Athlon XP scores a respectable 5000ish in the test, whilst a 2.0GHz Pentium 4 scores approximately the same. As most of you will realise in terms of FPU performance, the AMD should be ahead by a significant margin, suggesting SSE2 optimisations. With the version I tested there is no way of disabling this. Hardly an accurate way of depicting CPU performance when only a handful of applications are optimised for the P4!

I believe this is what Uncleel was linking to twice...:grinthumb

That's not very true. My 1.8ghz Willamette scores a MAX of 3807, while I forgot whose, his score on his 1.6A is 5000+. Core speed didn't mean too much i guess.

I still haven't tried this benchmark and I'm no longer going to download it I think. Looks like Mad Onion have a very buggy piece of software here, too bad for them as I don't dislike them at all, perhaps this will be an useful experience in the future, better releasing a test version first or something.

Definitely seems buggy to me, as the CPU test failed to even run completely on a machine down my local cybercafe.

"CPU score: N/A"

seemed a bit dodgy to me, when it has an Athlon 1Ghz.

Hey...

I installed the intel application accelerator yesterday.. and my HDD scores got up impressively...

W/O Accelerator
Aver. CPU score: 3792
Aver. Mem score: 3631
Aver. HDD score: 112

W/ Accelerator
CPU score: 3805
MeM score: 3479
HDD score: 604

I may sould like an ***** now, but if you've got an intel chipset, use intel application accelerator.

P/S My Speed disk couldn't work after that, though.

Not sure how much I'd trust any results from PCMark2002 - my Dual 933 / 2x 40 Gig ATA100 / RAID / 1 Gig PC800 Samsung / Gloria 2 Quadro Pro 64 Meg only scored

CPU score: 2464
Memory score: 1468
HDD score: 589

I close as many non-vital services as I could before running.
I got similar results on my Dual 733 with 1 Gig PC133.
Can't be representative of *junk as I do well in most other benchmarking apps.
