photo album.zip

I also have this problem.

It sends out "photo album.zip" to all my contacts.

I have rdchost.dll and rdihost.dll on my PC.

I can delete the rdchost.dll but everytime I delete it, it comes straight back. I can't delete the rdihost.dll file as it comes up with a message telling me to check if it is in use.

Can anyone PLEASE help me to remove this virus?

Thanx

Paul

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your post to it`s own thread. This will save any confusion.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Thanx for the welcome!

Sorry about the thread issue.

I don't want to restore the whole pc, so I think I'll try and clean it.

I'll try what you said tomorrow and see if it works.

Thankyou very much for your help!

Much appreciated.

Paul

I've decided to reformat my PC as I have been using online banking. I've just finished a data backup of all my stuff from my PC. I will change my passwords once I have reformatted.

Thankyou very much for your help.

I just hope the virus will be gone.

Thankyou!

Paul

Ok, no problem. I think you have probably taken the correct course of action. Reformatting will have deleted all viruses.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Regards Howard :)

Thankyou very much for your help.

I've completed the action and everything is fine, no more viruses.

Although I've installed the McAfee too many times that it no longer installs :(

Thanx

Paul

To be perfectly honest, I think your system will be better off without McAfee, as it`s a bit of a resource hog.

Here`s some programmes I recommend.

AVG free or Avast antivirus programmes.

Zonealarm or Kerio free firewall programmes.

Spybot Search & Destroy.

Ad-Aware se personal.

Spyware Blaster.

AVG Antispyware.

Ccleaner.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Regards Howard :)
