Photoshop CS2

Maybe someone here can help. I've been using photoshop cs2 for almost a year with no problems. But, all of the sudden, when I try to "open" an image, or even "drag and drop", nothing shows up in the field? It acts like it accepted it but there is no visible image? any ideas?
